Karl O'ShaughnessyGAAGo’s loss is World Rugby’s gain with news that Karl O’Shaughnessy has left the joint venture between RTE and the GAA to take up a position as Digital marketing Manager with the International Governing Body for Rugby Union here in Dublin.

O’Shaughnessy has a comprehensive background across sport having worked in the digital space for the FAI and Irish Hockey prior to becoming an important part of the team that has brought GAAGo to life since it’s creation in 2014.

The bid process for the 2023 Rugby World Cup and the hosting of the Women’s rugby World Cup in Ireland next year will put World Rugby centre stage in Irish sporting terms over the next twelve months and hopefully beyond.

O’Shaughnessy will now be a key player in telling the story around the sport as it develops the game off the back of a successful and lucrative World Cup in England in 2015 and heads towards Japan in 2019.

World Rugby’s offices are located on Pembroke Street in Dublin, a stones throw from the Aviva Stadium.

We wish Karl the very best of luck in this new chapter of his life.
