Sport for Business will be at the Media Future Conference in Dun Laoghaire today, along with a host of sports administrators and marketers.
Topics up for discussion include how social news is transforming traditional media, the future of information and how the experience of an event is changing.
Sunday’s dramatic finale to the Barclays Premier League season was as much a social media as a TV phenomenon though the question will also be looked at today as to whether in the rapidly changing information environment, one would be anything like as powerful for brands if it were detached from the other.
One common theme running through yesterday’s initial workshops was the lessening importance of Facebook, which if the ‘buzz’ is anything to go by, may have reached a peak and could now be facing threats from multiple different platforms.  The jury is out on that but you can follow updates from the conference today at the hashtag #MFC12 or by following @sportforbusines or @hartnettrob.
