The Gaelic Players Association is looking to recruit a new Head of Marketing and Communications to work alongside new CEO Dermot Earley.

The role will involve close communication with players, partners of the GPA, stakeholders across the Gaelic games spectrum and the media.

It promises to be a time when the Association will be in the spotlight as the deal signed in 2016 to provide for stronger links between players and the sport through promotion of health and wellbeing initiatives comes to the fore.

There will also be the ongoing challenge of telling the story of the players in the context of the ongoing debate over fixtures, and assisting in the maintaining and building of relationships inside the GAA and with new bodies like the Club Players Association.

The role was previously undertaken with élan by Sean Potts who has now moved back into his family business.

Among the key elements of the position will be developing the GPA brand and promoting greater understanding among players and stakeholders of the work the GPA does.

Relationship management with commercial partners including PwC, Aer Lingus, Opel and Avonmore will be another part of the job.

There will also be an emphasis on developing content such as the ‘We Wear More’ campaign pictured above, and managing the media channels through which the Association tells its story.

Recruitment for the position is being undertaken by Dalriada, part of the Sigmar recruitment group and those wishing to put themselves forward for the role should make contact through GPA@Dalriada.ie

Closing date for applications is Friday, 24th March 2017.
