PRO14 Rugby has announced its latest commercial deal with news this morning that ‘Freshly Chopped’ will be the Official Health Food Partner of the Guinness PRO14 Final Series in May.

The first Chopped store opened on Baggot Street in Dublin in 2012 and the chanin now extends to 40 stores across Ireland and in Cyprus.

Each Final Series game will see Freshly Chopped set up a ‘Health Hub’ that will provide competitions, food sampling and giveaways for health foodies.

Plans are also in place to reward fans who can get involved by following Freshly Chopped’s social media accounts for the chance to win tickets to the Guinness PRO14 Final at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, May 26th.

“Freshly Chopped has made a big impact since entering the market and its game plan looks a lot like ours when it comes to growing its presence,” said Dermot Rigley, Commercial Director of PRO14 Rugby.

“Over the past year, we have seen our fan-engagement metrics rise sharply across TV viewership, attendances and social media thanks to the excitement generated by our expansion into South Africa and the entertaining rugby in the Guinness PRO14 where try-scoring is reaching new heights.”

“Freshly Chopped is a vibrant and energetic brand and it’s brilliant to see them join our stable of Guinness PRO14 Final Series Partners.”

“Healthy and nutritious food is vital for the elite athletes who compete in the Guinness PRO14, but Freshly Chopped also provide for anyone trying to eat well without too much fuss. With the Final Series kicking off in May I’m really excited to see how they connect with our fans.”

“We are absolutely delighted that Freshly Chopped can support the Guinness PRO14 Final Series by becoming its Official Health Food Partner,” added Brian Lee, Co-founder and CEO of Freshly Chopped.

“As a company with health and wellbeing at its core, a competition like the Guinness PRO14, which promotes these values in communities right across Ireland, the UK and South Africa, is the perfect fit for us.”

“Since the opening of our first store in 2012, we’ve always been delighted to see professional athletes benefiting from our products, but while we know how important nutrition and healthy eating is to the players on the field, it is just as important for those in the stands. The Guinness PRO14 has followers from five to 95, just like our customers.”

“We look forward to working with the Guinness PRO14 team to help promote healthy eating and exercise to the thousands of loyal fans across the world. We know that is this just the start of a long and successful partnership.”

How the Final Series will work:

The Championship knock-out stages consist of six games in total. A Play-Off match to earn the seventh European Champions Cup place; two Semi-Final qualifiers, two Semi-Finals and the Guinness PRO14 Final.

The 2nd Placed teams from each Conference will host Semi-Final Qualifiers against the 3rd Placed teams from their opposing Conferences. The winners of those games play away to the 1st Placed Teams from Conference A and Conference B in the Semi-Finals with the winners reaching the Guinness PRO14 Final.

Freshly Chopped join The Times and Sunday Times, ROS Nutrition and Honda as Final Series partners.
