
It was an amicable switch, a fair time in the planning and the announcement of the new naming partner was held over until this morning when it tied in with social media and the website where registration for next years race will open up on Wednesday, November 1st.
The initial period of the new sponsorship will run for three years, from 2019 to 2021 and will take in next year’s 40th anniversary of the race which has now grown to be the fifth largest in Europe.
20,000 runners took part in Sunday’s 39th running.
250 of KBC’s 273,000 customers in the Republic of Ireland will be able to take advantage of a reduced price entry for next year’s race.
The brand will be able to call on its experience of backing the Dublin Night Run in recent renewals though the Dublin Marathon is a significant step up in terms of size, profile and numbers of participants across both the race itself and the series which has been built up around it.
