Fans who pulled themselves away from their couch to see the game live were given a glimpse of what their homes might look like in the near future with a pod set up outside the ground that had the unmistakable profile of Devin Toner welcoming people in.
The specially-built pod was to launch new Aviva Smart Home, an integrated home system allowing customers to fully protect and manage their home by controlling their security, heating and lighting, remotely with a single screen from their mobile or tablet.
“Helping customers when bad things happen is at the heart of what we do,” said Rob Townend, MD of Aviva UK General Insurance.
“But we also want to help prevent bad things happening in the first place. Harnessing the power of smart home technology allows customers to better manage what’s happening in their homes as well as helping them to avoid a small problem, like a slow water leak, becoming a big inconvenience.”
The widespread way that the Internet of Things is changing our daily lives will only accelerate in the coming months and years. What better way to grab an advantage in the hearts and minds of consumers than by tieing it to the feel-good factor that surrounds Irish Rugby?
