Coca-Cola Ireland has announced a new partnership with Sport against Racism Ireland which was launched yesterday in Dublin.

The brand came on board as a partner of the Premier League in April and have used Michael Obafemi as a brand ambassador in the Irish market.

The partnership with SARI will see Coca Cola contributing €35,000 to a number of projects over the course of the next year.

SARI is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to using sport to promote cultural integration, social inclusion and cohesion across the island of Ireland. Through the medium of sport, they are combating racism, sectarianism, xenophobia, homophobia and all other forms of discrimination in Ireland.

We have highlighted previous campaigns as part of our commitment to Sport for Social Good and can only applaud the support which will help expand their reach.

The money will be raised and distributed based on consumer votes through on pack redemption codes.

Irish football fans can win tickets to a Premier League match of their choice by entering a unique code from promotional packs of Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Diet Coke, Oasis, Fanta, Sprite, Lilt or Dr Pepper at https://register.coca-cola.com/ie/football.

On entering, consumers will have the opportunity to choose from one of four SARI projects:

    • SARI Soccernites and Young Leaders Programme (ROI)
Free weekly football training sessions for boys and girls aged 14-18 taking place in the north inner city.
    • Soccerfest (ROI)
The largest intercultural soccer tournament in Ireland, which has developed into a celebration of cultural diversity, social inclusion and global development.
    • Living Together Through Football (NI)
Designed to counteract the high levels of high school dropouts across Northern Ireland.
    • SARI Hijab and Hat-Tricks Project (ROI)
    • Workshops designed to promote equality in sport in secondary schools.

The campaign was launched yesterday by SARI Director Brian Kerr.

“Knowing the impact that sport can have, we’re thrilled to have the backing and support of Coca-Cola Ireland in their capacity as sponsor of the Premier League,” he said.

“This funding goes a long way in our initiatives and helps encourage and promote a positive environment in our communities.”

“With the theme of ‘Where Everyone Plays’ for our Premier League campaign we can think of no better partner than Sport Against Racism Ireland,” added Ronan Farren Director of Public Affairs and Communications for Coca-Cola Ireland.

“We have had a long-standing relationship with SARI over many years and their work in bringing young people, communities, and people from different backgrounds together through sport is something that Coca-Cola is delighted to support.”
