The Irish Paralympics team will be honoured later today by a reception at Farmleigh hosted by Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Sports Minister Leo Varadkar.
Individual members of the team have enjoyed home town homecoming since they arrived back in Ireland after the most successful ever international foray by an Irish sporting group.
The three gold medal winners from Northern Ireland struck the same colour again yesterday when the Royal Mail had a change of heart about painting gold post boxes in their honour in Eglinton, Glengormley and Seaforde.
It had originally been decided the honour, one of the best marketing ideas of the Olympics, would only apply to members of Team GB but local support to honour Jason Smyth, Michael McKillop and Bethany Firth  forced a change of heart.
