UK Sport has launched a new ten-year plan aiming to host 97 major events across 44 sports and generating a £6.8 billion boost to the wider economy.

Today’s Daily Video (above) is the promotional content explaining what it aims to achieve.

It is ambitious and would attract over 13 million fans with 95 per cent of the UK population living within two hours of a hosting venue.

71 of the events on the list are dual gender and 22 have already been secured, with a further eight, including the Rugby World Cup (for women), European Athletics Championships, FIFA World Cup, Ryder Cup and FIH Hockey World Cup all undergoing live feasibility studies.

The plan incorporates three ambitions based around performance, infrastructure and inspiring positive change. An overview of the plan can be downloaded here.
