The world of International sport moves at a fair pace and with those returning from Tokyo hardly having a chance to unpack their bags the Paris 2024 cycle has already begun.
It is important for sports that have been spotlighted over the summer to try and maintain their own pace of storytelling and Gymnastics Ireland has been quick to do so with Emma Slevin making the finals last night of the Uneven Bars competition at the 2021 World Challenge Cup in Artistic Gymnastics in Slovenia.
Slevin scored 12.000 to finish in 6th position, securing her spot in the final which is due to take place this Saturday 4th September from 2 pm to 4.30 pm (Irish Time).
Competing alongside Slevin on the Uneven Bars was teammate Kate Molloy who scored 7.800, missing out on a spot in the finals. This was Kate’s first competition in almost two years.
Tomorrow, Friday 3rd September sees Slevin and Blathnaid Higgins competing on Beam with Higgins also due to compete on Floor. The competition takes place from 2 pm to 6 pm (Irish Time) and is being streamed live on the event website.
The World Championships will take place back in Japan at Kitakyushu from October 18th to 24th.
