A new book looking back over 50 years of the All-Stars will be launched live across social media channels this evening at 6 PM.

All-Star Gazing Fifty Years of the All-Stars has been pulled together with a host of stories and statistics by Moira and Eileen Dunne, daughters of Mick Dunne, who along with his fellow journalists, Paddy Downey, John D Hickey and Pádraig Puirséal, got the awards scheme up and running in 1971.

Using their father’s records as a starting point, the sisters met over 100 All-Stars and others who have been part of the story, who shared their memories of All-Star banquets, All-Star trips and more.

The book includes a listing of each Football and Hurling All-Star team from 1971 to 2020, and for the first time ever, a complete list of all players nominated over the past 50 years.

It will be a very personal history of the Games and the players that have lit up Irish sporting summers over these past five decades and will be a very special addition to any bookshelf.

The launch will be live at 6 PM this evening and you can with it here.
