Gordon Britchfield has become Leinster Rugby’s latest summer signing off the pitch, joining in the capacity of Marketing and Brand Manager.
Britchfield cut his teeth in the sports sector as Marketing and PR Manager with Setanta Sports before spending two years as head of marketing with eir Sport after they bought out much of the content that Setanta had been building up.
While there he oversaw coverage of the Allianz Leagues in Gaelic Games and the major deal that was signed for ‘every game’ coverage of the Guinness PRO14 that eventually transformed into the United Rugby Championship.
After a spell as Head of Commercial at OTT service Rugby Pass, for the past two years he has been Head of Key Accounts at Journal Media.
In 2018 Britchfield was one of our Sport for Business / PwC 30 Under 30 Young Leaders of Tomorrow and we are delighted to see he is representing that group well.
This wide breadth of hands-on experience across sports and marketing in its many forms will set him fair for adding to the team at Leinster Rugby headed up by Kevin Quinn, formerly of Energia.
Leinster are preparing for a new era of management under newly appointed CEO Shane Nolan who will be joining in the autumn from his previous role at Google.
