FAI Chief Executive John Delaney has already been confirmed as the Master of Ceremonies on the night, taking on the role made famous by Sir Bruce Forsyth on the BBC and tickets costing €20 each wil be available on general sale to the public.
4,000 + get active for Special Olympics…
Special Olympics Ireland held its National Collection Day on Friday and called upon helpers from across the sporting and business communities to raise funds in support of the 11,000 athletes with intellectual disability who they give ‘dignity and self confidence’ to throughout the year.
Eircom was the main sponsors again and held special collections at its own facilities across the country.  There was extensive coverage across social media with celebrities like Des Cahill sharing photographs.
One collector in Booterstown County Dublin got a special surprise when discovering a diamond ring at the bottom of the collection bucket.  That swiftly turned into a national media story across radio and online as the offer went out to reunite the ring with its thought to be unintentional donor.[/ismember]
