Permanent TSB ambassador, Olympic Champion Kellie Harrington, and her wife Mandy Loughlin have launched the Bank’s joint digital current account, making it easy for new customers to open a joint current account digitally via the Permanent TSB mobile app.

This new release is part of the bank’s €150m investment in its digital banking services to deliver faster and easier-to-use desktop and mobile app offerings.

The use of Harrington and other Olympic and Paralympic athletes in achieving cut-through for the bank’s marketing is a direct result of their coming on board as the primary commercial partner of the Olympic Federation of Ireland and Paralympics Ireland in 2022.

“We are putting a lot of thought, backed by customer research, into making our digital channels including the desktop platform and our mobile app more efficient and easier to use,” said Permanent TSB Chief Technology Officer Tom Hayes.

“The launch of our joint application process for our award-winning digital current account journey on our mobile app is another big step forward in enhancing our offering for joint current account customers.”

“We know it can be a real challenge for customers and couples to find the time to attend a branch together to open a new account. In launching this journey, we’re providing customers with a seamless, secure and efficient process that supports them in opening their new joint current account, via their mobile, at a time and place that suits them best.”
