esports and gaming have continued to march on in the consciousness of Irish youth and Ireland is now really well positioned to take a prominent spot in the European and global gaming environment.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar dropped in on proceedings at the RDS and the team led by Stuart Dempsey put on an uber-professional show which was a mix of entertainment, performance, social engagement and community building.
Fellow Sport for Business members Nativz Gaming who run Ireland’s Collegiate esports series as well as teams across a number of European Leagues were involved as well as an impressive list of commercial partners.
eir were the title sponsors and were joined over the weekend by Britvic, Cupra, Currys and Enterprise Ireland among many more.
GamerFest will return to the same venue in October, hitting a rhythm of bi-annual events for which there is a clear demand.
Watch out later in the summer when we will produce a special podcast series looking at the business behind the esports sector here in Ireland.
But in the meantime, enjoy the showreel from last weekend above.
