Munster rugby has announced that Réalta Technologies, a leading Global Automation, Digital Systems and Data Solutions company as its new Official Data Solutions Partner.

The three-year collaboration will see the two working together for the 2023/24, 2024/25, and 2025/26 seasons.

Réalta Technologies, known for its expertise in data science, analytics, and artificial intelligence, will leverage its capabilities to elevate player and team performance.

This will be achieved through comprehensive data enablement and utilisation. The partnership will allow Munster Rugby to better analyse player and team data, identify areas of strengths and weaknesses, and formulate targeted training strategies for continuous improvement.

Commenting on the partnership, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration:

“We are really excited to partner with Munster Rugby and make a real difference to such an iconic team,” said Réalta Technologies Founder, Abán O’Riordan.

“The club is such an important part of people’s lives and to be in a position to help them improve performance over the next three seasons is something special,” added Joint Managing Director Dan Moore.

As part of the collaboration, Réalta’s team of data scientists will work closely with Munster’s lead Performance Analyst and Technical Coach, George Murray and his team.

The focus will be on building API integration to external data sources, developing optimised data models, and enhancing performance KPI dashboards. The ultimate goal is to establish a robust data foundation that leverages artificial intelligence to enhance team and player performance through streamlined analytics.

“It will give us a unique advantage in data analytics and help us to get the most out of the players, and the team as a whole, going forward.”
