Virgin Media Television is set for live coverage of a huge week of football in Ireland.
Kicking things off is the SSE Men’s Premier Division meeting between St Patrick’s Athletic and Shelbourne in Richmond Park next Monday. The Saints, who are rumoured to be sizing up Stephen Kenny for their managerial vacancy, will take on Damien Duff’s league leaders.
Focus then turns to the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday, as conquerors of Liverpool, Atalanta face Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Europa League final.
The Bundesliga side are looking to take the latest step towards a remarkable treble in an undefeated season. Coverage begins at 7pm Wednesday on Virgin Media Two.
Virgin Media Television will then air a live League of Ireland game on a Thursday night for the first time, with Drogheda United travelling to Waterford. Coverage starts at 7:30pm on Virgin Media Two.
It will be interesting to look at the comparative viewing figures across the League of Ireland games versus the UEFA Europa League match.
