Pinergy, the Official Energy Partner of Munster Rugby, has announced the extension of the relationship for a further four years, bringing the partnership to a full decade.

It has also expanded to include ambassador roles for Jack Crowley and Kate Flannery, the number 10s for Munster’s men’s and women’s teams respectively.

Their role as Pinergy brand ambassadors will help to support Pinergy’s ‘Own the Moment’ platform encouraging fans and the wider community to proactively take control of their energy habits. The partnership will extend to social channels and bespoke content developed for the partnership.

The collaboration embodies the shared values of excellence, sustainability, and community engagement that both Pinergy and Munster Rugby represent and will continue to represent into the future.

“I’m delighted to join Pinergy as an ambassador,” said Jack Crowley. “Their commitment to Munster Rugby and their focus on helping develop the province is something I’m delighted to be a part of. It’s all about ‘Owning the Moment’ on the pitch, and Pinergy’s support helps us do just that.”

“It’s an honour to represent Pinergy and Munster Rugby,” added Kate Flannery. “In Munster Rugby, we are extremely proud of our club and fans and I’m excited to be a part of a partnership that represents both so passionately. Pinergy’s dedication to ensuring Munster Rugby remains a sustainable club for the future aligns perfectly with the values of my team, our club but also the wider community.”

As part of its ten-year sponsorship, Pinergy provides comprehensive energy solutions to power both Thomond Park and Virgin Media Park with green, sustainable energy.

This includes supplying both stadia with 100% green electricity, installing EV charging infrastructure, and installing and managing solar energy generation at Virgin Media Park.

Furthermore, Pinergy has equipped Thomond Park with Acutrace smart meters to optimise energy consumption, drive efficiency and enable ESG reporting.

“We are delighted to extend our partnership with Munster Rugby and welcome Jack and Kate as our new ambassadors,” said Enda Gunnell, Pinergy CEO.

“Their dedication, skill, and leadership on the field embody the spirit of Pinergy. We are proud to support Munster Rugby’s journey towards a sustainable future and believe this partnership will further energize the sport and the community.”

SPORT FOR BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE

Building a partnership that tells the story of both sides is always going to be a winner. Pinergy’s relationship with Munster does just that, not only in social channels and at the matches but in a very tangible way of supplying green energy and installing the latest solar panelling on the roof of the stadia. Both sides gaining from what used to be a very basic transaction in sponsorship is a sure way to extend the lifetime value of a deal. Getting to ten years is proof of that.

WHAT’S UP NEXT?

Pinergy will be on the Munster Rugby shirt when the men’s team open up their Investec Champions Cup season at home to Stade Francais this Saturday, December 7th at 17:30
