Today was the first day of Women in Sport Week, a series of activities being brought to life across the NGB and LSP network and coordinated by Sport Ireland.
There are plenty of really positive ways in which this is being executed across the sporting landscape.
We have to be conscious though as well of the things that frame the way the general public view sport and while much work is being done in this area, there are things that clearly need improving.
We took a quick glance at the sports pages of our three mainstream newspaper today and on a day when visibility of Women in sport was to have been championed we discovered
Irish Times 29 pictures of male sport vs 4 pictures of female sport.
Irish Independent 24 pictures of male sport vs 1 picture of female sport.
Irish Examiner 28 Pictures of male sport vs 2 pictures of female sport.
Accentuating the positive here are a selection of the activities that have been taking place.

SPORT FOR BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE
The LSP network is one of the most important channels through which the harder to reach cohorts in terms of age, gender, disability, race and socioeconomic factors are considered. Their ongoing funding and access to Dormant Account Funding in addition to these distributions is vital to maintain.
