Olytico’s October 2025 analysis of Irish Sport on Social Media covers 14,500 posts, 5.78 million public engagements, and 18.34 million TikTok views.

Activity grew significantly across all platforms, led by Instagram, which accounted for 81% of total engagements (3.76M, +30%). X saw a 25% rise in engagements (191,746), while TikTok recorded its most active month since its inclusion, generating 18.35 million views (+120%).

Standout content included Shamrock Rovers’ transfer announcement of Victor Ozhianvuna to Arsenal, Caoimhín Kelleher’s penalty save against Portugal (the top post on both Facebook and Instagram), and Irish Rugby’s behind-the-scenes TikTok from Chicago.

The League of Ireland led in activity across multiple platforms, while Irish Rugby and Ireland Football delivered high-performing content on Instagram and TikTok.

Today, in the final of four articles on the Social Media metrics from last month, we are focusing on TikTok.

October 2025 Highlights on TikTok

 

 

 

581 (+29%) TikToks were posted by Sport for Business members in October – making it the most active month on the platform since its inclusion in the analysis. These posts resulted in 1.12 million engagements (+92%) and 18.35 million views (+120%).

Four organisations broke the magic million views for the month – led by the URC with an incredible 6.23 million views, Ulster Rugby (2.67 million), Ireland Football (2.6 million) and Northern Ireland (1.1 million), with an honourable mention to the League of Ireland account with 986,029 views.

The URC topped the activity charts with 123 posts – their most viewed content from the month featured the All Blacks’ Jordie Barrett as they looked ahead to his reunion with ex Leinster teammates in Chicago, this one piece of content generated over one million views alone.

The NIFL (90) were in second as Glentoran Women took the title, with Leinster Rugby (39) in third.

When ranked by average engagement per post, Ireland Football (9,721) topped the charts, followed by Irish Rugby (6,652) and Ulster Rugby (5,335).
