3. TG4 All-Ireland Ladies’ Football Semi-Final

Dublin v Kerry

Saturday | FBD Semple Stadium, Thurles | 5.15 pm

The most eagerly anticipated fixture of the weekend in women’s sport, renewing one of the game’s great rivalries.

4. Juddmonte Irish Oaks

Saturday | The Curragh, Co Kildare

One of the jewels of the Irish Flat racing calendar, bringing together Europe’s leading three-year-old fillies.

5. National Outdoor Combined Events Championships & National AAI Games

Saturday & Sunday | Morton Stadium, Santry

Ireland’s best decathletes and heptathletes compete for national titles on Saturday and Sunday, with the National AAI Games running alongside on Sunday featuring senior 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m and field events.

6. FAI Cup Second Round

Shamrock Rovers v Cork City

Friday | Tallaght Stadium

Arguably the glamour tie of the round as the Hoops begin another bid for cup success

7. Foyle Cup

North West | Opening Weekend

One of Europe’s biggest youth football tournaments gets underway with hundreds of teams and thousands of young players from Ireland, Britain, Europe and North America.

8. Irish Runner National 10-Mile Championship

Sunday | Phoenix Park, Dublin

One of Ireland’s premier road running championships, attracting many of the country’s leading distance athletes.
