Corporate Ireland will once again be called to the start line this September as A&L Goodbody has confirmed its return as title sponsor of the 2026 ALG5K Corporate Team Challenge.

The event, delivered in partnership with Athletics Ireland, will take place in Dublin City Centre on Tuesday, September 8th, continuing its rise as one of the most prominent fixtures in the corporate sporting calendar.

Building on the sell-out success of the 2025 edition, organisers are promising a larger and more engaging experience this year, with thousands of professionals expected to take part in an evening focused on physical activity, connection and workplace wellbeing.

The ALG5K has carved out a niche as a platform for businesses to encourage healthier lifestyles while strengthening team bonds. Open to corporate teams, sports clubs, family groups and individual runners, the event aims to be as inclusive as it is competitive.

Teams of four will compete across male, female and mixed categories, with chip timing ensuring accurate results. Individual participants will also contribute to the overall standings, reinforcing the collective spirit of the event.

Former European indoor champion and Olympian David Gillick will return as event ambassador, encouraging participants of all levels to get involved.

“The ALG5K is a brilliant example of how businesses can promote health, teamwork and balance in a really positive way,” he said. “It’s about switching off from the desk, reconnecting with colleagues and enjoying the buzz of achieving something together. Whether you’re chasing a PB or just crossing the line, this event is for everyone.”

Early bird team entry is priced at €110 plus booking fees for a team of four, including event T-shirts, and will be available until May 17th. Participants can also expect new high-performance technical T-shirts, alongside a range of team and individual prizes, including spot prizes on the night.

The event will again support DePaul Ireland and Athletics Ireland’s youth development programmes, continuing a strong charitable dimension that saw more than €11,000 raised for each initiative in 2025.

David Widger, Managing Partner at A&L Goodbody, said the firm’s continued backing reflects its values around workplace wellbeing and community engagement.

“We’re proud to continue our support of the ALG5K – an event that reflects our commitment to wellbeing, teamwork and community,” he said. “It provides a brilliant opportunity for businesses to connect, recharge and make a positive impact together.”

Hamish Adams, Chief Executive of Athletics Ireland, added that the event plays an important role in promoting both participation and performance.

“The ALG5K is one of the most important dates in the social running calendar,” he said. “A&L Goodbody’s continued support allows us to invest in future generations of athletes while promoting healthier, more active workplaces across Ireland.”

All participants will receive an official event T-shirt, a chip-timed race bib and post-race refreshments, along with the opportunity to represent their organisation at one of Ireland’s largest corporate participation events.

Winning teams will be presented with their prizes by a special guest in the days following the race.
