Aviva Insurance Ireland has joined forces with ClubberTV in a major new partnership that brings one of the country’s biggest insurers into the heart of Ireland’s fast-evolving grassroots sports broadcast scene.
It is also a first significant partnership within Gaelic Games for the business that is strong across football and rugby in particular.
The agreement, announced yesterday, will see Aviva become the official partner for all Clubber TV coverage throughout the 2025/26 season, with prominent branding across live broadcasts, digital platforms, and community engagement initiatives.
“At Aviva Insurance Ireland, we understand the power of sport to connect communities, and grassroots GAA is at the heart of communities throughout the country,” said Declan O’Rourke, CEO at Aviva Insurance Ireland.
He would have been personally very aware of that through his time as the Ireland manager at AIG when that firm was sponsoring Dublin GAA and extending through the club network.
“We are proud to support the growth and development of ClubberTV in making our national game more accessible to national and global audiences. We’re delighted to support a platform that gives communities more in terms of access, entertainment and inspiration.”
Founded in 2020, Clubber has established itself as Ireland’s leading live-streaming platform for grassroots sport.
By using cloud-based technology, the platform bypasses traditional broadcast infrastructure and enables high-quality coverage from local venues across the country.
Clubber holds exclusive multi-year broadcast rights for GAA in 14 counties and is on track to stream more than 1,500 games this year.
This weekend alone it will stream live club championship action from 80 games up and down the country.
“At ClubberTV, our mission has always been to bring grassroots sport to a wider audience, using technology to connect communities through the games they love,” said Jimmy Doyle, CEO of ClubberTV.
“To partner with a brand like Aviva Insurance Ireland is a significant endorsement of that mission. Together, we can raise the profile of local sport and create more opportunities for clubs, players and supporters to engage with the action, wherever they are.”
Clubber’s coverage includes high-profile county championships such as the Tipperary, Cork and Kilkenny Club Hurling Championships, as well as the Kerry, Kildare and Meath Club Football Championships.
Selected Camogie Championships are also featured on the platform, which offers flexible subscription packages for fans at home and abroad.
