Bord Gáis Energy has announced the continuation of its sponsorship of the 2026 GAA All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, extending one of the longest-running commercial partnerships in Irish sport into a 17th year.
The renewal was marked at a launch event in Croke Park featuring intercounty hurlers Lee Chin, Alan Connolly and Cian O’Sullivan ahead of the championship throw-in later this month.
The announcement also signals the latest activation of Bord Gáis Energy’s new ‘Know Your Power’ platform, which will be brought to life through the championship campaign by highlighting the speed, skill and community spirit associated with hurling.
The sponsorship continues a long-standing relationship between the energy provider and the GAA, with Bord Gáis Energy positioning the partnership as a reflection of its wider connection to communities across Ireland.
“Celebrating 50 years of Bord Gáis Energy reminds us of our enduring connection to communities across Ireland,” said Bord Gáis Energy Chairman Dave Kirwan.
“That connection is why our partnership with the GAA feels so natural. Hurling is powered by energy — from the speed and skill on the pitch to the passion of supporters who follow their counties with pride.”
“The Championship is such a defining part of the Irish sporting calendar and we wish all the players the very best of luck.”
“The continued support of Bord Gáis Energy for the GAA All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship is hugely important for our game,” added Jarlath Burns, President of the GAA.
“Their long-standing partnership has helped champion hurling communities across the country and celebrate the skill, speed and passion that make the sport so special.
“As another championship begins, we look forward to seeing players and supporters alike bring their own power and energy to what promises to be another outstanding season of hurling.”
The 2026 Championship will begin on Saturday, 18 April, with Bord Gáis Energy once again activating the sponsorship through its GAA Rewards programme, offering customers opportunities to win tickets to sold-out fixtures and exclusive matchday experiences.
The continuation of the sponsorship reinforces its position as one of the GAA’s most established commercial partners and underlines the enduring value of long-term investment in one of Ireland’s premier sporting properties.
