Boylesports GreyhoundsBoylesports is continuing a strong run of sponsorship of major Irish events by becoming the new sponsor of the Irish Greyhound Derby at Shelbourne Park.

The agreement with the Irish Greyhound Board is understood to be for an initial  three year period and will also see Boylesports become the official betting partner of the IGB.

The deal follows on from a successful first year of sponsoring the Boylesports Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse.  That deal included taking on the racecourse betting shop at the Ratoath Venue and all were rewarded with a fairytale finish when Boylesports ambassador Barry Geraghty won the race for the first time in his career for leading owner JP McManus.

The Irish Grand National and the Irish Greyhound Derby are the two biggest and richest events in the sports of horse and greyhound racing and that is clearly a factor behind the involvement of Boylesports in both.

“Every year we examine ways of increasing our sponsorship portfolio and when the IGB kindly approached us we had little hesitation in reaching an agreement.

“By becoming the official betting partner of the IGB, it means that we will be extending our range of events and services that we offer to our Irish and international customer base.”

“Bringing both these great races together is a reflection of our desire to support major sports events in Ireland and we are investing more money into Irish sports than ever before.”

Full details of the sponsorship are expected to be announced next week and include other events in the Greyhound racing calendar as well.
