The Irish Greyhound Board has scored a major confidence booster with the news that Boylesports is to continue its major support for the Irish Greyhound Derby.

The event, hosted at Shelbourne Park Greyhound Stadium is the most prestigious race in the Irish Greyhound Racing calendar. Boylesports will back it again in 2020 making it the seventh year of the partnership.

2020 has been a challenging year for sponsorship across all sports and this is a major boost with BoyleSports investing in a prize fund of over €250,000 for this years’ event.

The winning connections will walk away with a first prize of €115,000.

First-round heats for this year’s Derby will commence on the 14th August with the final on Saturday 19th September 2020.

As part of their continued investment in the sport, BoyleSports have also confirmed their continued sponsorship of the Champion Stakes. This event this Saturday at Shelbourne Park Greyhound Stadium with the total prize fund of €32,000.

The draw for the Derby will take place on Monday 10th August at midday, and will be broadcast live on the Irish Greyhound Board Facebook page.
