The Arab Irish Chamber of Commerce has been announced as a jersey sponsor for the GAA’s Middle East outpost.
The Dublin-based Chamber promotes commercial relations between Ireland and the Arab world and CEO, Ahmad Younis was today presented with a GAA Middle East jersey, in recognition of the organisation’s support for GAA in the region.
From Dubai to Qatar, Saudi Arabia to Kuwait, the reach of the GAA in the Middle East is going from strength to strength.
There are 15 clubs now and more than 1,600 registered players drawn from both the Irish expatriate community but also from other nationalities that have been drawn to the sport.
The Middle East GAA unit is one of the fastest-growing worldwide. It received a significant local boost when Etihad Airways was a sponsor of the All Ireland Hurling Championship back in the early days of its foundation in 2013 and has continued to draw significant interest.
With Arab investment in worldwide sport at a higher level than ever before it is an exciting time to be representing Ireland’s national games on that stage.
The Arab Irish Chamber of Commerce works with almost 1,000 Irish businesses that are exporting to the Arab World.
