Deloitte Ireland has today announced a major four-year partnership with Olympic gold medallist and world record holder Daniel Wiffen, who will serve as the firm’s lead brand ambassador.

The announcement was made during Wiffen’s visit to Deloitte’s Dublin headquarters on Global Olympics Day, marking the start of a high-performance collaboration that aims to spotlight elite mindsets, data-led innovation, and a shared pursuit of excellence.

The partnership unites the world’s largest professional services firm with one of Ireland’s most accomplished and promising athletes.

At just 23 years of age, Wiffen has already made history, becoming the first Irish male swimmer to win Olympic gold and securing a world championship title. Most recently, he posted the second fastest 1500m freestyle time in the world this year at the Irish Open, finishing over 30 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.

Deloitte Ireland CEO Harry Goddard said the partnership reflects a shared ethos between Wiffen and the firm.

“Daniel brings an elite mindset to everything he does,” he said.

“It’s one driven by discipline, intelligence, and a constant search for improvement. What sets him apart is his approach: he uses data not just to understand performance, but to shape it.”

“His philosophy reflects ours here at Deloitte. Whether in the pool or in business, high performance is never accidental. It’s engineered through analysis, reflection, and action. We’re proud to support him as he builds toward LA 2028 and redefines what’s possible.”

The collaboration was launched with a series of events attended by over 3,000 Deloitte employees, including a virtual announcement, a lunch session with the firm’s AI and analytics leaders, and a roundtable discussion with Irish and UK media.

Wiffen and members of Deloitte’s data science team explored how precision analytics are transforming elite sport, covering everything from stroke efficiency to turn optimisation.

Central to Wiffen’s training regime is the use of advanced performance technologies, including 3D motion tracking, biometric monitoring, and machine learning-driven feedback. His approach relies on continuous data analysis, where every element of his performance is quantified and refined.

“Excellence is built,” Wiffen said at the launch.

“Every training cycle, every split time, every recovery session is tracked, analysed, and improved. I use data to understand where I am and to see what I can be. It reveals things the stopwatch can’t—how fatigue shows up in my form, how I can gain efficiency on the turn, how small changes stack into real performance.”

“Working with Deloitte makes perfect sense. As the number one professional services firm globally, the team here understands that mindset of always challenging, always refining.”

“Deloitte people are sharp, curious, and at the edge of what they do constantly. That energy drives me. I’m excited to take on this journey together toward more records, more growth, and a shot at LA 2028. This is just the beginning.”

Sport for Business will have an exclusive interview this week with Harry Goddard, CEO of Deloitte Ireland on the reasons behind the partnership and much more.
