Druid Padel has continued its expansion across the capital with the opening of a new facility in Kimmage, bringing three covered courts and a community-focused clubhouse to Dublin 12.
Located at BD Gyms Carlisle, the new venue marks the latest addition to the brand’s growing network and is aimed at broadening access to one of the fastest-growing participation sports in Ireland.
Padel, a hybrid of tennis and squash played on enclosed courts, has seen a surge in popularity due to its social nature and accessibility across all ages and ability levels. The launch of Druid Padel Kimmage is designed to tap into that momentum, offering year-round play in a premium indoor setting.
The facility features three covered Padel Galis courts, with Druid Padel serving as the official distributor of the court system in Ireland. The investment reflects a wider strategy to develop high-quality infrastructure capable of supporting the sport’s continued growth nationwide.
Alongside the courts, the venue includes a purpose-built clubhouse intended to function as a social hub for players. Facilities include a dedicated reception area, a retail space stocking Babolat padel equipment, and a café serving fresh coffee and pastries.
A full programme of activity is also planned, including leagues, tournaments, social events and corporate experiences, as well as structured coaching pathways catering to beginners and advanced players alike.
“The opening of Druid Padel Kimmage marks another important step in our mission to grow padel in a way that is community-first, inclusive and professionally delivered,” said Edel Clarke, CEO of Druid Padel. “We are creating spaces where people can connect, compete and improve in a welcoming environment. Dublin 12 has a strong sense of community and we are excited to bring a premium, year-round padel experience to the area.”
The launch has also been welcomed by former superstar jockey Rachael Blackmore, who is a brand ambassador for the company and has taken up the sport in recent years.
“I’ve spent so many years fully immersed in racing, and while that will always be a huge part of my life, it’s great to now explore something new,” she said. “Padel is incredibly fun, social and competitive in its own way, and I’ve really enjoyed it whenever I’ve had the opportunity to play. Seeing facilities like this open in Dublin 12 is fantastic, it will give more people the chance to experience and enjoy padel like so many others.”
The Kimmage opening strengthens Druid Padel’s position as a leading operator in Ireland’s emerging padel market, with further growth expected as demand for accessible, social sports continues to rise. This latest addition comes to bolster the facilities at Coolmine RFC and SportsCo in Ringsend, with more in the pipeline.
