AIG brought the star appeal of their sponsored Dublin GAA players to the party yesterday when launching a new home insurance offer to mark the fourth year of their partnership.
Dublin footballer, James McCarthy, hurler, Eoghan O’Donnell, ladies’ footballer and newly appointed captain Sinéad Aherne and camogie player Ali Twomey were in Dublin city centre today to launch the offer.
“We’re always looking to give the best deals to existing and new customers and this offer highlights this commitment once again,” said General Manager at AIG Ireland, Declan O’Rourke.
“We are delighted to be able to offer great value home insurance policies and reward any new customer with a €60 One4all voucher.”
Commercial
The commercial language of the launch may jar with GAA purists but it is vital in any sponsorship that the return on investment be measured and AIG is in the business of selling insurance.
Dublin GAA is now as finely tuned a machine off the pitch as it is between the white lines and has proven adept at ensuring the sponsors needs are met.
“It’s great to have James, Eoghan, Ali and Sinéad here today to help make the announcement and officially launch the 2017 season,” added O’Rourke whon is a fan as well as a shrewd business leader.
“It’s been a great start to the year for the Dubs with the footballers and ladies’ footballers having wins in the league at the weekend. The hurlers season gets underway this Saturday night when they face Tipperary under the lights in Croke Park and the camogie teams’ campaign will get underway on Feb 18th when they face Cork in their first fixture.”
“On behalf of everyone in AIG, we would like to wish all teams the very best of luck for the coming year and hope that it’s every bit as exciting as last year.”
The AIG sponsorship covers all Dublin teams with kit and funding for training and facilities spreading all the way through development and juvenile squads as well as those at senior level across football, hurling, ladies football and camogie.
AIG are one of 13 official partners currently signed up to support Dublin GAA. Others include Aer Lingus, Subaru, Lifestyle Sports, Ballygowan and Skins.
