Round the Square will be available to download on gaa.ie every Thursday at 1pm from the end of July right up to the All-Ireland football final. Two special pre-final shows will also be streamed live from Croke Park in September.
This is the first summer that the Association has been fully active in social media through facebook and twitter while the upgraded online site is proving popular in Ireland and further afield.
Lisa Clancy Director of Communications said: “We are delighted with the success of Round the Square which connects the GAA directly with our supporters around the world on gaa.ie,” said GAA Director of Communications, Lisa Clancy.
It is likely that the online rights to broadcast live or highlights coverage will form a much more significant part of the general broadcast contract which will soon start to be negotiated for 2014-2016.
Social media channels were full yesterday evening with thoughts and images from the 2012 National Hurling, Camogie and Handball Féile which has started across Dublin and which saw 5,000 children aged under 14 parade down O’Connell Street last night.
