Walking in and around Croke Park since the start of the year you couldn’t miss the work going on around the entrance to the GAA Museum at the base of the Cusack Stand.

In advance of Sunday’s AIB Club Championship Finals the fruits of that labour were revealed with the re-opening of the ‘Club Wall’ to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Museum.

The popular installation, which showcases crests from every club globally, has been updated and recreated to reflect the growth of Gaelic Games in recent years.

Each unique crest tells a story and is often linked to the folklore, geography or culture of an individual club. It is an important stopping point for anyone visiting the stadium or going to games and finding ‘your’ club.

The new version of the wall includes all LGFA and Camogie clubs in addition to Handball and Rounders units, another positive step towards closer integration of all the games.

The GAA Museum put a call out to all clubs across all associations at home and abroad in September 2023.

Clubs were asked to submit their crests and after months of work a new modern and illuminated Club Wall was installed.

It was unveiled before the GAA AIB Senior Club finals in Croke Park last Sunday by Uachtarán CLG Labhrás MacCarthaigh.

“The new ‘Club Wall’ at the GAA Museum physically shows us the growth and strength of our clubs at home and all over the world,” he said.

“The club lies at the heart of our communities and our sports. I’m delighted that those who visit us here at Croke Park will see all our clubs showcased in such a memorable way.”
