Greyhound Racing 2012Irish Greyhound Racing has struck a triple classic sponsorship deal with Gain Dog Food.

The brand has been associated with the Gain Dog Food Cesarewitch at Mullingar for ten years and has now added other major events at Harold’s Cross in Dublin and Kilcohan Park in Waterford.

The three events will run through March, June and November and will be backed up in an overall campaign by the support of five additional races in Galway, Cork, Limerick, Tralee and Newbridge.

In total the prize money on offer in the 8 races backed by Gain will be €80,000.  The deal is for an initial one year.

“GAIN Dog Food is committed to supporting the Irish Greyhound Racing Industry and our valued customers, said Ciara Watt, Brand Manager for Gain Dog Food.

“On that basis we are proud to extend our sponsorship for 2014 of these high profile races.  We saw this as a great opportunity as last year was an excellent year for our product sales. This is a great way of thanking customers directly.”

Speaking about the investment Colin Walsh, IGB Director of Commercial Operations said, “This major investment shows Gain Dog Food’s ongoing committent to Irish greyhound racing and its classic events,” added Irish Greyhound Board Director of Commercial Operations Colin Walsh.

“Ciara Watt and William Rigney, Greyhound and Pet Foods Business Manager, have shown a real understanding of the sport and what it can do for them and we are looking forward to an exciting calendar of successful Gain sponsored events in 2014.”
