Gymnastics Ireland honoured the sport’s leading performers, rising talents and key contributors last weekend as the 2025 National Awards, in partnership with Marsh, took place at the Radisson Blu on Golden Lane in Dublin.
Emma Slevin was crowned Gymnast of the Year for the first time, capping a landmark year in which she continued to break new ground for Irish gymnastics.
Slevin reached multiple world-class finals, delivered a standout fourth-place finish on beam at the 2025 Paris World Cup, only missing the podium by just 0.1, and continued her development on the NCAA circuit in the United States.
Her performances and profile have made her a leading figure in inspiring women and girls in Irish sport.
In the Rising Star category, Men’s Artistic Gymnast Chester Enriquez received the 2025 honour following his double medal success at the European Youth Olympic Festival during the summer, a breakthrough moment that underlined Ireland’s growing competitiveness on the international stage.
Chester was one of our guest speakers at the 2025 Sport for Business Children and Sport event, which will take place again in September 2026.
Coach of the Year – International went to Conor McGovern, recognised for guiding Ireland to its first-ever gymnastics medals at the European Youth Olympic Festival and for his wider contribution to the development of elite performance pathways.
Jillian Kearns and Sarah Rennick picked up the National Awards in the coaching category.
There were special awards for Vortex Gymnastics club for their work on Governance, and for DP Gymnastics for their work on Digital media and social.
Athletes, coaches, volunteers, VIPs and supporters gathered to celebrate a year of significant progress across the sport – from grassroots participation to high-performance achievement at European and world levels.
Nice shout-out from CEO Ciaran Gallagher for all the partners and clubs in this video recap of the night.
