Gymnastics Ireland is looking forward to a big weekend with Rhys McClenaghan competing in the European Championship Finals but it is also looking to a longer horizon for the sport.

It is on the lookout for a single contractor to develop and implement a new bespoke membership system covering the sports hundreds of clubs around the country as well as its 40,000 and rising number of individual members.

“The membership system is a vital component of the organisation that was custom-built 17 years ago,” said Deirdre Farren, Operations and Administration manager in the tender document.

“Over time, the system has undergone significant growth and expansion, both in terms of members and its range of features. The primary purpose of
the system is to manage club memberships, events, finance and communication. It is the organisation’s backbone and has been developed to keep up with the growing needs of members and the organisation.”

“The time has come for Gymnastics Ireland to invest in and develop the next-generation membership system, providing added value to the organisation in-line with relevant GDPR legislation. The current system has served its purpose but with the growing needs of the organisation and its members, it is important to invest in the next-generation system to keep up with the current technology trends and better serve the organisation.”

“The new system will be designed to meet the current and future needs of the organisation and its members, making it more efficient, user-friendly and secure.”

Sports administration is a vital part of the ecosystem that delivers the fun and the games. It has to be done to a very high standard and this is an important step in making sure that continues.
