The official launch of a not-for-profit, Her Sport Foundation will take place at a dinner at the Castleknock Hotel this evening.

This foundation is focused on breaking down the barriers that prevent girls and women from thriving in sport.

The Foundation, based around the Her Sport online and social channel established by Niamh Tallon and Mohammed Mahomed, both alumni of the Sport for Business 30 Under 30, will concentrate on three key areas: community impact, advocacy, and research.

More specifically, it will deliver educational workshops in schools and sports clubs, provide financial support to athletes and sports teams for essentials like equipment, travel, and kit, fund critical research in women’s sport to advocate for systemic change, and lead impactful advocacy and visibility campaigns to challenge gender bias and societal norms.

It is a brave and bold outline of what they hope to do, but that is how everything starts with ambition, and they certainly have the energy to succeed.
