The GAA and the Gaelic Players Association have signed a five year partnership with Insomnia Coffee to be the Official Coffee Partner of the GAA/GPA.
Limerick hurler Cian Lynch, Kilkenny Camogie player Katie Power, Galway hurler Conor Whelan, Dublin footballer Paddy Small and Meath footballer Emma Duggan have been unveiled as brand ambassadors.
The sponsorship will see Insomnia Coffee commit to working with the GAA/GPA in providing the extra resources needed to help players reach their full potential, both on and off the pitch.
This partnership for Insomnia is the first of its kind for the company.
Celebrating 27 years in business, Insomnia has grown from a single location in Galway in 1997 to over 150 coffee shops throughout Ireland and the UK, both on the high street and in partnership with retailers.
“As an Irish owned business trading 27 years, Insomnia Coffee are proud to partner with the GAA/GPA,” said CEO Harry O’Kelly.
“We are delighted to be working with such a prestigious organisation, one which mirrors many of our values including those of community, inclusivity and respect. The five-year journey begins today and we are very much looking forward to working closely with the GAA/GPA and of course the communities that we both serve nationwide.”
“We are delighted to welcome a very well-respected Irish brand such as Insomnia Coffee into the Gaelic games family and we look forward to helping them bring this partnership to life over the next 5 years,” added Tom Parsons, CEO of the GPA.
“We know from talking to our members that there is a strong and growing interest in coffee, not alone as a product but as an experience and hence the great fit.”
“The investment Insomnia are making will help us support players both in terms of their welfare and their development and for that, on behalf of our members, I want to say thank you.”
“It’s a fantastic development to have Insomnia Coffee join the GAA and GPA family as a commercial partner,” said Peter McKenna, Commercial Director of the GAA.
“As a great Irish business success story, we’re excited to welcome them and are looking forward to working with them to bring the partnership to life for supporters across the country.”
