Kelyn Cassidy
Kelyn Cassidy, a 24-year-old boxer from Waterford moved to within one bout of a World Championship medal in Belgrade last night, defeating his Tajakstan opponent on a majority verdict.
Shabbos Negmatulloev boxed at the Olympic Games in the summer while this is Cassidy’s first major international tournament.
He will now fight later tonight in a Quarter Final against a Belarus fighter who needs to pass a medical exam after picking up a cut in his bout to reach this stage.
