The Irish Wolfhounds will host a European Championship game against The Netherlands at Navan RFC this Saturday October 19th at 5pm.
“Our last trip to Navan Rugby club was in 2018, where we played the Belgium Barbarians,” said Head Coach Ciaran O’Sullivan.
“We came out the right side of a 1 point game, the final minutes of which had everything, last minutes scores, onside kicks, goal line stands.”
“The game was electric and the atmosphere in the stands was pulsating.”
The recent activity of the Pittsburgh Steelers in particular as well as the New York Jets and the Jacksonville Jaguars have put the sport closer to the centre stage of options for Irish athletes and that is already starting to come through in camps held by the Wolfhounds.
“This injection of youth changes the dynamic in the team,” added O’Sullivan. “It drives improvement and competition for places.”
The team will also unveil their new look Wolfhounds shirt, sponsored by Carrolls Gift Shops.
Tickets priced at €10 are available online to attend the game and experience the sport up close and there is also a Pay Per View option at https://www.247.tv/live/fulltimeproductions.
