The 2022 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby was launched yesterday alongside the wider Kildare Derby Festival.

The 157th running of one of the most prestigious races in the international racing calendar will take place as part of the three-day Festival from the 24th to the 26th of June.

Since 1978, Kildare Town has been hosting their annual Festival in conjunction with the Irish Derby.

A full programme of events will take place in the town from 18th to 26th June 2022 with music from acts including The Blizzards, a Derby Legends Museum, The Derry Family Cycle, the annual Thoroughbred Run, Derby Legends Talks, Historical Walks, Eimear Quinn in concert at St. Brigid’s Cathedral and more.

The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby will take place on Saturday 25th and will attract a world-class field of runners from across the globe.

It has been sponsored by Dubai Duty-Free since 2008 and before that by Budweiser for 21 years and the Irish Hospital Sweepstakes for around the same period before that.

Other major sponsors involved over the course of the three days include Paddy power, Barberstown Castle, Sherry Fitzgerald, Westgrove, Hollywoodbets, Comer Group, Gain, ARM Holdings, Barronstown and Airlie Studs.
