There will be a new look to Leinster rugby next season with the news confirmed yesterday that the sponsorship agreement between the province and Adidas will not be extended beyond the 2022/23 season.
adidas came on board as the official kit supplier to Leinster Rugby ahead of the 2018/19 season and the season just finished will be their fifth and last as kit supplier to all teams, coaches, Leinster Branch referees and back-room staff at the club.
During that time the two organisations have worked closely on content, sales and marketing as well as the production of the kit for the teams and for fans.
A new supplier will be announced in due course.
“The last five seasons have seen success on and off the pitch and adidas have been a key part of that,” said Sponsorship manager eamon de Búrca.
“It has been a brilliant opportunity for Leinster Rugby to work with a global brand and to take lessons from that time that we will hopefully carry forward.”
“I’d like to place on record my thanks and indeed our thanks, in particular, to the team based here in Ireland, who made this relationship work and who understood the club and the dual mandate.”
“We have had an excellent partnership with Leinster Rugby over the last five years,” added Chris Walsh, VP Brand, adidas North Europe.
“Our focus has been on helping the club grow both the men’s and women’s teams, ensuring the athletes receive the best products and services from us. This shared commitment has brought huge success on and off the pitch and we wish the club the very best for the future.”
