The European Sponsorship Association has published its shortlist of nominations for the 2024 awards to be handed out in February.

Ireland has had a stunning degree of success in these awards over the years and last year we had 30 different Irish companies up for 40 awards across the multiple categories.

The flight home was laden down with seventeen wins including hat tricks for Sky Ireland and the FAI, Agency of the year for Teneo and Overall Sponsorship of the Year for Whoop.

This year we are at the very top of the list once more with no fewer than 38 campaigns in contention across 17 different categories.

Legacy Communications and Teneo are both up for Agency of the Year.

PwC have been nominated for six different awards with their Camogie All-Stars, IRFU U20, Image and ESG Leadership campaigns.

Vodafone are up for Sports Sponsorship between €1m and €5M, Cutting Edge Technology and PR with Irish Rugby.

Bank of Ireland with Never Stop Competing and Aviva Ireland are also in that larger sports category with the latter also up for Best use of PR and the former in the Music category.

SuperValu are up for three awards including Purpose €1M+, Best use of PR and best use of Digital Channels with Balls.ie for the Community Includes Everyone Campaign.

Electric Ireland have shortlisted nominations in Arts and Culture,Purpose up to €250,000Sport Up to €1M and best Newcomer with Camogie.

KPMG’s partnership with the Women’s Irish Open is up for two awards in Sport Up to €1M and in Purpose Up to €250,000 with the Books for Birdies initiative.

The Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon is up for Event of the Year alongside the PwC Camogie All Stars.

AIG and Dublin GAA is a bittersweet nominee for Best Use of Content, while Energia and the Brand Fans are up for Best use of Measurement and Insight for the Rugby For All initiative.

The Allianz Partnership with Women’s Aid is one of five Irish campaigns in the Purpose category up to €250,000

Sky Ireland, Core and the FAI are nominated for Best Use of PR and in the Sport Uup to €1 M category.

SSE Airtricity, AIB and Londis and Three are also up for awards.

The award for the Best of Europe category will be determined early in the new year with our own Rob hartnett on the judging panel for that.

Shireen McDonagh of Legacy, Elma Beirne of LineUp, laura Byrne of Bank of Ireland, Grace Crowley of O’Callaghan Hotels, Conor Cullen of the FAI, Lorna Danaher of Energia, Sarah Geoghegan of Core, Michael Gree of Verve, Katie Hanley of Group M, Sam Jeffery of Norwich City (a Sport for Business member), Siobhan McCartan of Six Nations Rugby, Ciara O’Grady of Onside, Rob O’Leary of CSM, Rob Pearson and Paddy Somers of Teneo, Aiste Petraityte of Electric Ireland, and Conor Talty of Future Proof are also among the judges that have done their work on selecting the best of the best.
