Vision Sports Ireland will host MayFest 2023 this weekend at UCD
It is a multi-sport weekend, packed with ‘come-and-try’ opportunities, competitions and demo sport events for people who are blind and vision impaired, and their family and friends.
MayFest has continued to grow year on year since its inception in 1981.
MayFest 2023 will have sports and activities for all ages and abilities. From Judo to golf, rock climbing to cycling, there will be something for everyone to try (and enjoy) over the weekend.
The very first vision impaired rugby game on the island of Ireland will also take place. This game will be held between the Irish VI rugby team and the Harlequins VI rugby team who are travelling over from the UK for the event.
On Saturday evening, once the activities are finished, all MayFest attendees are invited down to the Talbot Hotel Stillorgan for a social catch up.
Mayfest is being supported by Eppione, a global benefits management programme.
“We are passionate about supporting local communities and charities to make a difference,” said a spokesperson for the company.
“Treating others with respect, decency and integrity is at our core, so we’re pleased to support Vision Sports through sponsoring MayFest 2023.”
“Our colleague, Barry Ennis, has been actively supporting fundraising for Vision Sports for a number of years, having recently become a member of their board.”
“We’re delighted to be supporting him and Vision Sports in this valuable work, promoting and enabling sport for people who are visually impaired.”
