Munster Rugby and the Irish Examiner have signed a four-year official Media Partnership agreement.
The agreement covers all Munster Rugby senior and junior squads in both female and male competition. The two brands will work closely to enhance the audience experience, build new audiences across all platforms and create additional value for readers and fans.
It will see collaboration on a range of projects and events, campaigns and initiatives.
The deal was made possible by the withdrawal of Independent News and Media as naming partners on Irish Independent Park which has now reverted to its original name of Musgrave Park.
It caps a strong week for the province that last week announced the extension of the partnership with the Bank of Ireland to cover the Men’s and Women’s team through to 2023.
“We are delighted to be the official media partner for both the Munster Rugby male and female squads,” said Majella Gallagher, Managing Director of the Irish Examiner.
“Readers of the Irish Examiner love their sport and our coverage is unrivalled online and in print.”
“As we celebrate our 180th anniversary, we look forward to this new and exciting partnership with Munster Rugby, who share many of our core values – tradition, excellence and loyalty.”
“We are so pleased and proud to welcome the Irish Examiner to our family of sponsors and partners of Munster Rugby,” added Munster Rugby CEO Ian Flanagan.
“This partnership of two great brands with such special histories and resonance feels very fitting and very right.”
“We greatly look forward to working with them over the next few years to enhance their excellent rugby coverage and to bring Munster Rugby and the sport we love to national and international audiences across both traditional and digital media platforms.”
