A new Ireland Rugby shirt will launch today for both the Men’s and Women’s game.
Pre-orders will open up at Intersport Elvery’s and the shirts will be available for sale in October, in time for the hopeful resumption of international rugby action.
Canterbury signed a new four-year extension with the IRFU in July.
“Canterbury has been the Official Kit Partner to the IRFU since 2014 and this four-year renewal will make our partnership one of the most enduring in rugby,” said Padraig Power, Commercial director at the IRFU
“The ongoing quality and appearance of the kit reflects the significant R&D and design expertise which Canterbury brings.”
“We operate in a demanding environment as we strive to ensure our international teams are turned out in kit which incorporates the very latest technological advances, while at the same time presenting a design that is contemporary and attractive to our supporters.”
This will be the first time that the shirt to be worn by the Women’s team is available for retail sale, marking another step up in the attention being paid to gender in the sport.
Canterbury’s extension with Irish Rugby also included taking on sponsorship of the “Give it a Try” initiative originally developed after Ireland hosted the Women’s Rugby World Cup in 2017.
