Off The Ball will return as the official media partner of the Team Ireland Olympic Sport Awards in 2026.

The Olympic Federation of Ireland confirmed the renewal ahead of the second edition of the awards, which will take place on November 28.

Ten awards will be presented on the night, recognising performances, achievements and contributions from across the Irish Olympic sporting community.

Off The Ball will use its radio, digital, podcast and social platforms to promote the awards and tell the stories of Irish athletes, coaches and sporting communities.

“Off The Ball’s support last year helped elevate the stories of our athletes in a powerful and authentic way,” said Olympic Federation of Ireland Commercial Director Catherine Tiernan.

“This renewed collaboration reflects our shared commitment to celebrating excellence, inspiring future generations and shining a light on the people who make Irish Olympic sport so special.”

Off The Ball Managing Editor Mick McCarthy said the media brand was looking forward to building on the inaugural event.

“Off The Ball is driven by storytelling, passion and connection, values that align perfectly with Team Ireland,” he said.

Details of the award categories, criteria and submission process will be released shortly.

Sport for Business Perspective

A media partnership gives the awards reach and relevance beyond the room in which they take place.

The commercial value for Team Ireland lies in building a calendar of content and athlete storytelling between Olympic Games. The awards provide a platform for recognising success across Olympic, Winter Olympic, youth and European competition while maintaining public engagement with the wider Team Ireland story.

The partnership provides Off The Ball with access to athletes and original content across audio, video and social channels. It also strengthens the brand’s association with Olympic sport at a time when individual athletes are developing increasingly valuable audiences of their own.
