Pinergy is supporting a new Basketball Ireland Performance Conference. It is the official energy partner to Basketball Ireland but with game time at a premium in 2020, it has reimagined how the partnership might work and puts its energy into this strong learning session which will run from 11 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, 28th November.

Talks will feature experts in their field, discussing topics that affect performance at both elite and grassroots levels. Each talk will be in a panel format and will last 30 minutes.

The subject matter will include psychology, nutrition, skill development, high-performance culture and more.

Guests will include top minds from Irish basketball and the wider world of Irish sport including Munster Rugby’s Head Performance Analyst George Murray and top football coach Lisa Fallon.

Esther Goldstein from Orreco, Irish Rugby international Lauren Delaney and sports psychologist Ciara Losty will also be contributing.

The event will be capped off with interviews with both Jay Larranaga and Susan Moran.

Larranaga is a former Irish international and is currently the lead assistant coach with the Boston Celtics. Jay will be discussing how to build a high-performance culture.

Moran is Ireland’s only ever WNBA player and is now the Player Development Coach at St. Joseph’s University. She will be discussing how to balance team and player development.

“Over the last number of weeks, Basketball Ireland staff members have been busy catching up with experts from around the world to discuss and cover a whole host of interesting topics,” said Head of Development Ciaran O’Sullivan.

“These experts are delighted to exchange views on conversations that shape both performance and participation, we hope the basketball community enjoy the day full of insightful conversations.”
