It seems likely that Ulster and Munster’s lucrative New Year fixture in the Guinness Pro12 on January 2nd will be moved in order to accommodate the need to remix fixtures in the Champions’ Cup caused by the Paris terror attacks.
Discussions between the clubs appear to have resulted in a decision not to play those games midweek but to get them played before the concluding rounds in the group phase.
Both Irish sides will have away games in Oyonnax and at the Stade de France respectively.
The provincial derby’s are always a popular fixture and no decision has yet been taken on when the game at the Kingspan Stadium will be refined for.
The English season started late to accommodate the Rugby World Cup and they have very few windows in which to get additional games played.
