Four weeks ago, Active Disability Ireland hosted the first-ever National Xcessible Awards, celebrating five years of progress in disability inclusion across Irish sport.

From Basketball Ireland to Mayo Sports Partnership, National Governing Bodies and Local Sports Partnerships were recognised for their commitment to making sport accessible to all through the Xcessible Programme.

With powerful stories, well-deserved recognition, and a clear message of lasting change, this was a major milestone in Ireland’s fourney towards a more inclusive sporting culture.

“These awards are about more than recognition — they celebrate real, meaningful change,” said CEO Brenda O’Donnell.
