Limerick Greyhound Stadium played host at the weekend to the inaugural Red Bull Drift Pursuit competition at the Treaty track.

The event took place over two days, May 18th and 19th, and visitors watched drivers go head-to-head in qualifiers which tested their speed, accuracy and control.

The sun shone and the engines roared as thousands of motorsport fans filled the stadium watching some of Europe’s top drift drivers battle it out with their abilities pushed to the absolute limit.

Alan Hynes was crowned the first ever Red Bull Drift Pursuit champion in thrilling fashion. Special guests including James Deane, Conor Shanahan and Jack Shanahan put on some brilliant entertainment with roars from the crowds as the pair took to the course.

“We were delighted to host the inaugural Red Bull Drift Pursuit and congratulations to the winner Alan Hynes,” said Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for Greyhound Racing Ireland.

“Thanks to all the staff who put in a huge effort to get this up and running and we hope to see drift fans return to us in the future.”
